Fit & Details
  • This style runs small. Your size may differ from what you wear in other brands (or even other Abbreviated styles) - follow the size chart below. If you're between waist sizes, go with the larger one. Model is 5'8" wearing size 30x28
  • Standard Straight Fit. Inspired by vintage 501 jeans. Mid-rise, straight through the hip, thigh, and leg. Leg shape is proportionally adjusted for the inseam length to create a flattering silhouette for shorter men.
  • Our Standard Straight Jeans feature a classic fit inspired by our favorite vintage jeans. The denim is made of American grown cotton from Cone Denim Mills and has a touch of stretch for comfort. Each pair is garment washed, creating a unique organic texture which will develop additional character with every wear. Details include custom blackened copper hardware and a YKK zipper fly. Imported.

Standard straight jeans

My first order from Abbreviated. I will likely order more. I gave 4 stars as these are slightly tight in waste but otherwise good fit. These definitely run small but rather have them tight than too big

What a pleasant surprise

I am 5'4" 130lb and ordered a 30 waist with 26.5 inseam. I'm usually closer to a 29 in the waist FYI so I went with the larger (30 vs 28). I also am around a 25.5 inch inseam but didn't want high waters and I like to put a cuff at the bottom. These fit great. If without shoes, they drag on the floor a little but I knew that would happen ordering longer than my inseam. I've always been a slim fit guy and it is nice to have jeans that aren't slim and still look normal on me without needing alterations. Haven't had them long enough to comment on durability but they feel solid. Big smile on my face trying these on as I've never been able to wear pants "straight off the rack".

For what it's worth, I did also order the loose fit workwear pants in the same size and they were significantly bigger (too large in the waist and too long) when compared to these standard straights.

new favorite jeans - these are now my go-to jeans whenever they're clean. I'm 5'7" and the 28 inch inseam is perfect to wear with a little break on the shoe. i might even buy a 26.5 pair to have for the slightly cropped, ankle look with high-tops. quality is very impressive for the price, highly recommend.

I ordered two pairs of jeans and I’m concerned about the quality. While the fit is great, the jeans themselves have started to pill after 2 wears — I sent a message, and it was said that this was due to how they sand paper the fabric. Unfortunately, I’m not left feeling great about the appearance or quality. I will not be a repeat purchaser.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear the fit has been working well.

As we explained over DM, the abrasion you’re seeing comes from the hand-sanding process used to create the fades on that particular wash, and is a necessary step to give the jeans the worn-in look and texture. The rinse washes don't get this sanding step, which is why you don't see the abbrasion on the rinse pair you purchased.

As we also mentioned in our messages, if you do notice any actual fabric failure (threads or yarns breaking down rather than just surface abrasion), please let us know so we can make it right.

We appreciate you giving them a try and sharing your experience.

We sometimes incentivize reviews (e.g., gift card giveaways). We never ask for positive reviews—just honest feedback.
