Head of Finance

Remote – Full Time

Abbreviated is a fast-growing ecommerce brand making better-fitting clothing for shorter men. We serve thousands of customers each month and are looking for a Head of Finance to help guide the company’s next phase of growth.

This role is designed as a close partner to the founder. The right person will own financial planning and help translate company strategy into operating plans while building the financial systems needed to scale the business. This role will have broad visibility across the business and help guide major operating decisions.

In the near term, this role will focus heavily on planning, forecasting, and resource allocation across the business. Over time, the position will evolve toward a broader CFO-style role as the company grows.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys building systems from scratch rather than managing an existing finance team.

What you’ll do

• Partner closely with the founder to define the financial and operating framework for long-term growth
• Own the company’s financial model and forecasting process
• Translate business goals into operating plans and resource allocation
• Establish planning cadence across the organization
• Lead bottoms-up planning across demand, inventory, and assortment
• Develop scenario planning to guide major decisions
• Build financial systems and reporting that support better decision making
• Help evaluate major investments, hires, and growth opportunities
• Improve core operating processes across finance, inventory planning, and internal systems

This is a high-trust role with significant ownership. The right person will be comfortable operating with ambiguity and helping the company scale thoughtfully.

Who this role is for

• 7–10 years of experience in FP&A, business planning, strategic finance, or related roles
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Experience building plans and making decisions with incomplete or ambiguous data
• Strong ownership mindset and comfort operating as a founder’s partner
• Extremely detail oriented and highly organized
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
• Consumer, retail, ecommerce, or inventory-driven business experience helpful but not required

Compensation & Benefits

• $140-170k base salary + equity participation
• Default 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday)
