Slim Jeans

I have been used to wearing jeans that just fit as close as possible for years. At 5' 6", it was never easy to find jeans that fit well. When I first put the Abbreviated jeans on, I thought they didn't fit right. It took me a minute to realize that shorter rise and no extra material bunching up around my shoes meant I was finally wearing a pair of jeans that actually fit me!. I will be replacing all of my jeans with Abbrivated.

As a 5'8" tall guy with thick thighs, jeans can be tough. My way through for many years has been to buy slim jeans for the taper, size up in the waist, and cuff a 30in hem down to 28. I was excited to try Abbreviated after being introduced to them because it's nice to find a brand that has a reliable 28in hem, but I find they're not perfect. This is probably for a couple reasons:
1) Most jeans brands give an extra inch on top of the size in their waistband and I expected Abbreviated to follow suit. These jeans are true to size in the waist, so that's on me I guess.
2) The slim jeans are meant to fit a frame that slims from the waist, not the hips. They're straight through the hip, tapered through the thigh, and then straight below the knee. This is complimentary for skinny fellas that want jeans to follow the lines of their body, but those of us that need a tapered jean because we have a working-class ass and thick thighs are either going to have to deal with being snugged up through the seat to calf, or size up and belt a larger size to get some extra room, knowing that it'll end up a little big around your ankles.
I think if I had my way I'd ask Abbreviated to add an athletic fit option with an extra two inches in the hips that then tapers all the way through the thigh and calf, down to the ankle.

Usually wear 31-33, the 32 do not have any stretch and are for sure a snug fit. Would get 34 next time.
